Hey there everyone!! I just thought of a fun idea to see how many different things we can come up with. I posted a thread asking about what I thought might be a plating error, and someone else posted something and I came up with the idea so I shall feature them and their coin to kind of give you an idea of what i mean. Look around in your collection and try to find something that makes your coin appear like you can associate the error/damage with everyday life. I welcome all coins USA, world coins, heck if you gotta coin from out of this world feel free to post it if it looks like something. Could be anything. Like this. I found a crying Lincoln!! IMG_2106.JPG
Or like our new member @santy posted today, a Lincoln that looks like he is sneezing!! IMG_2107.JPG
It would be very interesting to see what people come up with!! Gives us all a chance to joke around. Post what ever your hearts desire and in whatever amount of pictures!just no duplicates! I want to see what ya got!! Even if you see someone post something you want to post like a common cud, die break or crack. Only rule is it must resemble something like I explained above. Happy hunting and wishing many investments

FYI, I just thought you/everyone should be aware that the person/s that take the picture/s, is the owner of the picture. It is both immoral, and illegal to use them (post them) without the owners permission. "PLEASE" correct me if I'm wrong. (anyone) I didn't know this until it was pointed out to me on this site. Perhaps someone could explain better, but it is my understanding.

Learning of Father Brennan's death, photographer Keith Jennings (David Warner) begins investigating Damien. He notices shadows in photographs of the nanny and of Father Brennan that seem to presage their bizarre deaths.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that is always correct. I would think that if the intent was to educate rather than profit from it, there would not be any conflict. Maybe one of our legal eagles will chime in.

I'm no legal expert, but publishing the work of another without permission is unethical or immoral, but not illegal. Publishing copyrighted works without permission is illegal, and may result in a civil action.

    Not true .
Unless you have it copyrighted, anyone can use them ..

At least in the eyes of the law .......

So... not illegal, possibly immoral/ unethical???
The usage, or intent comes into play???
The OPs usage has no bad intentions IMO, so this is ok?

I think I used a picture that ancient Joe had captured, when this was brought up, maybe wrong information was given, or I misunderstood.
Anyway, good thread. I hope i didn't derail it.

If the issue here is mostly centered around the OP's use of another person's photo, with credit given, wouldn't it fall under fair use, particularly if viewed in context?

No. Unless something has changed, according to the Federal Copyright Act of 1976, photographs are automatically protected by copyright from the time they're taken.

That is one nice woody. I love woody pennies. I actively look for those no matter how brown or how many 80s coins I might collect! Improper mix of metals!!!
