The rules certainly allow for immediate year changing and in the beginning we did it quite quickly. As the thread has progressed 'the culture' is to allow people a little time to show what they've got...easier to do for 1880 vs. 1980 .

No exact time to change but I suspect if it's been 24 hours it's certainly time to move on because that allows for all time zones/work shifts reasonably. Less is fine too, and personally I try and make sure it's been 12-24 hours.

At this point I see nothing wrong with asking our fearless OP to make a ruling (if we need one in his opinion) @Curtisimo .

On that note, it's been 1880 awhile so I'll move it to 1879. I have nothing ready for 1878 so will sit that year out, unless I find something sitting in my junk silver or unsorted piles.

This one is a little worn but it came from my grandfather. It is also his birth year. I don't know if he carried it or not but it's a nice reminder of him.

 

That one is "worth" a lot more than my store-bought coin.

I've been looking for one more of these $4 coiled-hair Stella coins to complete my roll set. Of course one of the most difficult tasks is to find the paper tubes that will hold $4 Stella coins.
