I think I may have found a 1955 DDO-002 but its in pretty rough shape. From variety vistas ref its pretty spot on unless I need to get my eyes checked again. 0803171834a_HDR.jpg 0803171838b_HDR.jpg 0803171841a_HDR.jpg 0803171838g_HDR.jpg 0803171838f_HDR.jpg 0803171838_HDR.jpg 0803171837e_HDR.jpg 0803171837d_HDR.jpg 0803171837b_HDR.jpg 0803171836a_HDR.jpg
I can post pics of back if needed.
I feel pretty confident I am labeling this correctly. Dream crushers welcome.

I see some die deterioration toward the rim. Although the first hubbing was weaker on die 2, there is still a strong spread present. The doubled eyelid, vertical bar of the G, and vertical bar of the first T in TRUST are still easily distinguished in late die state. I'm just not seeing this on your coin. Unless they are hiding in shadows. Look at stage C and you will see what I mean. The doubling would have to be EXACTLY like the DDO.

You might try soaking it in acetone for a couple of days to hopefully remove some of the gunk just to be sure nothing is hiding underneath. Pure acetone will not hurt the surface or value in any way.

Okay I will try it out. I saw someone post something about 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 1 teaspoon water and soak for 30 min. I tried it with old damaged coin and it did the job after just seconds but you could tell it was cleaned. I will try this method.

On a different subject. Can you guys tell me if this is indeed a die crack or am I seeing things again. Don't want to waste a thread if it is not. Its running north east through hair. 0803171225g_HDR.jpg 0803171225j_HDR.jpg
