@Paddy54 did I get it right yet? Before I get excited at FINALLY identifying a DDO or split serifs, can I get some input? The most distinct identifier is the split serifs on the T & I in LIBERTY, but a 1 in the date has a split serif as well. (UST in TRUST shows doubling but if I get a positive ID on a possible DDO I'll take close up photos of that too..just don't want to waste my time). Also, what percentage would you say it is off-center.. 5%?...less?
Looks like to me we have a "BINGO" As for the off center looks more like mad. Misaligned dies. Nice ddo.
It looks like 71D SDO-001 (Series Doubling) to me. http://varietyvista.com/Variety Master Listings/kennedy doubled dies 1971-1994.htm#_1971-D
You say it 'looks like' series doubling but there aren't any photos on the link you posted. How do I tell the difference? I'm sure you figured it out by the codes but I'm not that good...yet.
Paddy if you or the other boys don't mind...I need a bit of guidance on self grading. These examples are off the PCGS grading app & im trying to figure out where my coin fits in.
I say from your images that are dark and hard to read at least an xf-Au in grade. Kennedys aren't my strong suit... but I love the fact that you are diving deeper into the hobby. What was that saying .....oh yeah " you come a long way baby"....
Thanks Paddy! I stayed low on the scale when I took a screenshot of the grades, I thought VF to XF. I didn't want to be presumptuous to thinking it was 'all that'. You know how some people are with their kids & coins...everyone thinks theirs is the best. LOL
