Why do threads like these go on almost forever and yet very informative threads from knowledgeable people sink after 4 or 5 pages. Please ignore the urge to post back a funny which keeps it alive unless you are truly interested in the subject and find something new you don't know to read and learn. Have a good day. Jim

I can guarantee that in less than 2 years I will get a "like" from Doug.

While certainly both a fair and reasonable question, one could also ask why the individuals responsible for this type of thread are allowed to start them in the first place. It's not as if this isn't predictable, even if it is often, or at least sometimes, sadly entertaining. How many dozens of 10-20-30 page Detecto threads resulted in members being castigated for simply taking hold of the baited hook allowed to be placed in front them?

Even if a long shot that something negative will come from it, the steady stream of people new-to-the-hobby that come here seeking solid advice should take precedence over some kid, or bored/lonely guy, with nothing better to do than pretend he's going to "propel the world 1000 years into the future", or present himself as being some incredible hotshot dealer all while contributing absolutely nothing of value. Based upon things you've said in the past, I can only assume you agree.

Heavycam you are trying to extend and make this thread worse, I did not let Ed to continue doing so and neither will others. Do not get personal. So do not continue.

Though I can't say I'm a fan of his music whatsoever, a good example is Marilyn Manson. I remember in the aftermath of the tragedy at Columbine a lot of people wanted to make a scapegoat out of him because the two cowards there that committed the crime listened to his music, and people were shocked to see that while being interviewed he was actually quite articulate and had insightful answers to the questions he was asked. Just goes to show you can never judge a book by its cover.

  14. The informative threads with knowledgeable people naturally run their course in a few pages, and then the next such thread takes over. With this thread, you have an extremely obvious attempt to instigate forum members via delusional self-promotion minimally related to a hobby we all enjoy. An ensuing back-and-forth and/or one-upmanship takes over mostly for the sake of having fun at the expense of the OP. Some can take it too far, but for most it is an almost automatic natural response to comment. Think of it as cyber rubbernecking at a car crash.

Threads like this just add a bit of fun to the forum. We all know that Ed is not real. Just have fun with it but do it in a nice way.

Ed Wood, I have a challenge for you, since this question ties to your original post.
I will gladly take every negative comment back, and apologize to you, if you can correctly identify the coin in question. I will become a believer if you can tell me the correct answer to the coin shown.
What is it? What date is it?
There is only one answer and the coin is REAL! It has been confirmed by many expert graders over the years. IMG_0391.JPG IMG_0392.JPG

Of course I do, but my post, like the one it was in response to, wasn't so much a question but an observation. ;)

The OP is sad, I'm sure. His hero was convicted in federal court today and faces up to 20 years in prison.
