    Strike doubling then recoated the new coating makes the md stand out more. Notice the 4 and 1 also shows signs .

    Reprocessed cents such as this often display what appears to be "doubling", but is simply an artifact of the plating.

    Nothing special, unfortunately.

    Are the 1944-D also reprocessed or was it just the steelies?

    "Reprocessed" is a term usually applied just to steel cents, but a 44-D (or any other coin) certainly can have been or be plated, yes.
