Strange that this message about this new app failed my security checks but thought I would pass this on to you all in case you might be interested. If in fact it's a real message and not a spoof or their SSL certificate is outdated.
Strangely, I downloaded their app for the Apple phone last night. Nothing to write home about, but at least it works, which is more than can be said about their Web site.
From time to time, the website had crazy prices on it like $10 for an 1893-s Morgan. You would click the "buy" button, it would take the money from your account, and then put it back at the end of the day without comment. When inquiry was made, the explanation was always (it happened twice) that the site was under construction and that the insanely low price was a just a place-holder. At least they realized they did not have the capacity to get it right and took it down.
I have never paid much attention to Stacks since I tried to buy a coin out of stock on their old site. I couldn't get it to go through and no one at the company was interested enough to help me or take the order over the phone. I got the desired coin the next weekend at a show. Downloaded the app so I could bid during the ANA show. After that, I may take the app off the phone.
I'm glad - I had to use their website on my mobile phone to bid in the June Baltimore Auction, and accidentally placed a $4500 bid on a token I didn't want (or know what it was, for that matter). I'm glad they have us Android users covered now.
