I’m looking at the L in Liberty and it looks pushed. Did this happen by the striking of the coin, and if so is this what you would call a broadstruck error? I don’t think it’s pmd.
Chris, I thought the raised edge might have caused that. What do you call the raised edge like what I'm seeing in the first picture? It's not something I see on the majority of the cents I go through.
We see so many Lincoln cents with damage, and we also know that it is relatively easy to move the coin metal in many different ways. It looks to me like the metal is pushed up which suggests a gouge of some sort, but without a really good close-up that is not blurry, I can't be 100% positive. Chris
I see a slight ring around the edge of the Cent.. it's classic Die Deterioration which has affected the L in LIBERTY.. it's a copper plated zinc cent so it could be small plating blisters caused by the deterioration.
