2009 Lincoln Cent Designs

Not sure if these are official chosen design or just concepts.

designs were not so impressive.

 

Those suck! Bring back the wheat cent design with the VDB initials on the reverses bottom. How about a 2009 S VDB proof issue too that looks just like the original 1909 S VDB? That would be cool.

 

YES !! That would be fantastic, but is the US Mint that smart?

 

of course the mint isn't that smart, despite the fact that it would be a clear winner among collectors

 

those stink , big time. I need a design that has some attitude.

 

It made national news Tuesday (NBC at 6PM) that one one the members of the CCAC actually broke down in tears due to how much they disliked the designs purposed. The 1st one is awful and the second I would not pick if there were any other reasonable designs. (My apologies to the artist as I'm sure the second took a little time and is something they are proud of).

 

They have to be proposed designs. There are two that are almost exactly the same. Jeez!

 

i really like the log cabin on the left.

 

I think the designs will look great if they can actually put that much detail into each coin!

 

maybe it's just me but it looks like freddy kreuger on one side and an outhouse on the flip side.

Those designs just cry out "ERROR, ERROR, ERROR"!!! There is NO WAY that the mint can make those designs without screwing it up! They (the US Mint) couldn't even get the edge designs right on the new dollar coins! I just hope that the final decision hasn't been made yet. I really like the GOPHER's idea!Good reply GOPHER!

They did not like any of the designs submitted comemorating Lincoln's presidency.

 

These were some of the designs I think they had;

 

I like the cabin on the reverse, but I prefer the fifth design on the top row in the attachment provided by CentDime. I am not all that fond of any of the obverses, really. Why didnt they like any of the designs commemorating Licolns presidency?

 

Apparently all lincoln did was chop wood and wave books and paper in his hand. GARBAGE

These are as bad as the Jefferson nickels. The characters look like they belong in a peanuts sketch.

 

The log cabin looks like something right out of a 9th grade art class and what is supposed to be Abe on the reverse of the other coin looks like Willie Olson from Little House on the Prairie. I dont like those designs at all.
