No, I'm not leaving. I'm here to stay. I'm here to say thank you to a choice few and to the community as a whole. I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for you all. I thoroughly enjoy your company and meeting some of you in person. This thank you has been in the crock pot and I think it's done. @ancientcoinguru - Somehow someway you knew who I was when we were at the airport in Colorado prepping for the ANA Summer Seminar. I can't thank you enough for everything! (half of my collection is from you ) @Theodosius - For the coins you gave me in that "here take this... and this... and this" manner. Don't worry I'll post 'em. @Ancientnoob - Giving me a coin that took a couple of months to identify. It really taught me how to be flexible. @John Anthony - For giving me the leftovers after auctions! And to everyone who gave me coins through John! THANK YOU! Check it out, I filled it up! -Aidan
There's some members here that have a big heart for sure. When I first made the move to ancients I bought a couple of coins from Anoob and he tossed a freebie in there to boot. One of those coins I gave to one of the forementioned. Even Sallent sent me a cool Gordie III. But I'm always amazed when I read threads like yours about members giving away several coins. It's a great and generous way to get people involved in this great hobby we share.
Ha ha I was battling a bad migraine that day and almost went home before stopping at Pegasi. I would have liked to talk to you more. I hope the coins I shared were not all junk.
Yeah, there are some cool folks here for sure. That's an awesome collection you got going there YN! Time to upgrade that coin box to a larger size!
Thank you for your contributions to the forum, Aidan_()! Our passion (ancient coin collecting) needs young and enthusiastic new members. We are more than owners of ancient coins—we are Curators of Ancient Collections. I’m proud to be a member of this forum of generous curators and I too wish to support our younger members in their journey into the Dark Side—LOL. Please allow me to send you a few ancient Judaean coins (no charge, no strings attached) to add to your collection.
My address is [...] please use PM/Conversation for such info Thanks for the offer of a couple of free ancient coins,I'll look forward to trying to figure out what they are. It's people like you that make this site so attractive to new collectors, much gratitude Mark
This is exactly why this community is the best! (probably in the world) Thank you for your kind offer Ray, PM sent.
Greetings Odomax. Welcome to the ancients forum! My apologies if I was not clear but the offer was to young Mr. Aidan_() only.
I saw those coins @Theodosius, and they were all in great condition and nice coins! Please post them on a CT thread @Aidan_(), I'd love to hear what you learned about them.
What @Aidan_() doesn't tell you is that I overheard him talking with some other YNs, and I latched onto him as soon as I hear the word "ancients." I was so excited to meet someone else with the same interests, and Aidan has become a good friend. We live in the same state, so meet up at FUN twice a year. It's so cool to have someone to discuss potential purchases with, who knows what I am looking at (my husband's eyes glaze over). @Theodosius, please join us!
I did forget to mention @4to2centBC !!! Sorry! He gave me some nice coins, especially a APius denarius. And a recent edition... @Deacon Ray ! I just recieved a trio of coins, I think I like the inserts more than the coins! Thank you for the amazing gift Ray.
