does anyone know what these are currently selling for?

Clearly, I can check auction results, so I know basically what they sell for on eBay, but do any dealers here even bother with these coins?

The P minted nickels are worth more than the D. I see them sold mostly by the roll. The dealer I bought a roll of D's from is selling a roll of P's for $90+shipping. I don't remember what I paid for the D roll. Also these nickels are business strike. The mint sets have the satin finish nickels.

Seems high to me. Almost 40 million P and almost 47 million D minted.
I am seeing 30 cents in MS 60. (70 cents in MS 65 but that's difficult.)
So to me a roll is $12. I have some of these in mixed grades. Nothing special IMO.

Are the cent rolls fetching anything yet?

I picked up a P and D pair this weekend for $1. I know I got a good deal, but I haven't heard much about them recently.

I thought that 1 had a mintage closer to 25 million, although even at that calling them scarce would be a stretch

That works out to $2.25 each for the Ps. According to PCGS CoinFacts, the D is the more valuable of the two in 65 and the P is more valuable in 66.

Folks are either unaware or they have forgotten that the US Mint suspended production of 2009 Nickels AND 2009 Roosevelt Dimes in 2009 due to the financial crisis.

The ONLY source for either nickels or dimes was Puerto Rico and the rolls were selling for some serious money. A mintage of 46,800,000 for the Denver Nickel is paltry compared to mintages of years before and after just shy of 500,000,000.
Additionally, "Mint Set" coins didn't count because they were all "Satin Finish".

Which was the one found in Puerto Rico, Lee, the P or the D?

Not that I am aware, Eddie

Just my luck, Mike. I thought they'd be offering premiums for these so they could look for extra thumbs or something. There are about 9,000,000 varieties of those, already, did you know? :D

Those 2009 Lincoln cents sell everyday on Ebay in proof and circulated versions, graded and ungraded for cheap. Also, I have seen alot of 2009 mint sets for sale on E-Bay. There are some high grade satin finish coins in the sets. For the coins in satin finish they really need to grade MS-68 or 69 for the money. I think people believe the mint sets count towards the total mintage of coins for that year and it doesn't. The mint sets from 2005-2010 were all satin finish coins.

Not only were the nickels low mintage, but, the dimes were also. These are business strike circulation coins only. The problem with 2009 nickels and dimes is going to be the same problem with other coins with known low mintages. People hoarded them in MS condition. Try finding these coins in CRH. Scarce as a silver dime.

I did a box of nickels one time (none since, it was disappointing) but there were a number of 2009's. Also found a few metal detecting. As well as some 2009 dimes.
