I just started watching currency and coin collecting videos on YouTube, so I'm still pretty new to all this. But, I have a $1 bill with a serial number of j 14641646 B, it's a 2009 series. I was wondering if it is just a throw away like the other bills (as in throwaway I mean not worth selling for higher than it's worth) or if it's something I can sell for more than it's worth.
So it's still worth $1, nothing special about it? (Might still keep it, I like the sequence) By the way, can you give me any tips for what I should be looking out for, I know the star bills are reprints of bills that didn't pass inspection, but other than that, anything you can give to a newbie who is starting to collect?

MattL, first off, welcome to the Coin Talk community. Next, you might want to check out this site. http://www.coolserialnumbers.com/wanted.aspx
@MattL , if you like, keep it. It's only a buck. It's nothing special, not a radar or repeater or anything else that has added value.....and, it's pretty beat up.
Right, it's only a buck, but study the basic parameters for serial note collecting and set your sights higher!
