Indent on coin

    Was just looking at this coin and noticed the indent on her chin area. Does this look like PMD or something potentially the dies could have caused somehow? Not a valuable coin so not worried one way or the other just hoping to learn something haven't run into something like this yet. Thanks!

    Morgan dollars were struck in 90% silver. It looks more like a strikethrough to me.

    Thanks everyone. Sought out to learn something and just finished reading about strike-throughs now.

    It's not certain that this is a strikethrough; delaminations are known with Morgans and almost every issue, including pure-composition ones. The evidence here, to me, is in favor of a strikethrough but this is one of those cases where 100% certainty is not possible.
