Ok...I was just curious myself. Looks like yours was not in the DB (not surprising). For that plain back, the highest serial I saw in the DB was 86529. Looks like you may have the highest serial around - at least the highest one known as of now. Best known grade is XF on that note. If that position is I (hard for me to see), only 8 examples of that note from that position. There could always more out there though. Very cool find on top of everything else. Jackpot!

I had the same bank note a while back from the Bank of Raleigh and I sold it to a dealer for $200. Interesting how yours doesnt seem to have been signed on the obverse by the Cashier and Bank President. Mine was and the signatures were still clear from when it was issued. Yours has the same locations for signatures at the bottom. Maybe I cant see them in the photo?

By the way, yours is in much better shape than the one I sold.

Wow, If I came across a box like that it would probably have nothing but mouse droppings in it.

I don't see any trace of the signatures; if they were ever there at all.

With no signatures, and a very high number this may be an unissued note. On obsoletes it would be called a remainder note.

It's best to use a metal detector and stud finder for anomalies in walls.

    Cool find.

What a great find! I don't know about value, 'though. There's probably more value in its history and provenance than in numismatic value since most everything seems to be common circulated, although you might luck out and find a few keys or semi-keys. Get a few Whitmans and see how much you can fill up.
