Well, they are still long dead! Ha! But, my collection of them is not. Considering I have a little girl who is 12 weeks old today that is named Julia after my favorite Empress, I thought I would share a little collection I have going on of Septimius Severus and Julia Domna. There is nothing earth shattering in here, unfortunately. But in terms of some pretty solid coins at friendly prices, I think I have done okay. http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=6295 http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=6296 Please look and comment! If you see any errors or have anything to add, please do. I really like the feedback. Happy Friday! Nick
Nick, you have some very nice coins in those two files. I would gladly add some of those to my collection. Congratulations.
@Bing: Thanks a bunch pal. I have been trying to buy coins with nice portraits and full legends. One or two early purchases/ridiculously cheap coins slid under the line but are still not the worst I have seen so they can hang out with me.
Nice collection. You've done well. At this point I have more JD than Sept. Sev.'s, looking to add to them.
@ro1974 Thank you for the Victory and well wishes. We are very happy. Looking at your Severus Victory also makes me happy. Those horses on there are near lifelike. @Smojo Thank you. I am trying to flesh out both collections about equally but sometimes you get a rush of things in no particular order. Last two were JD and nice coins that were harder to find in my price range. Prior to that I picked up four SSev. You never know. @Severus Alexander Thank you for the compliments. The Saeculi was one of my first JDs. And to this day I have a hard time finding that coin as nice and for nowhere close to the price I paid for it. I didn't realize what a win that was for me at the time.
