Here is a coin that normally is not on my radar. But when I saw it is the display case of my local dealer, I had to take a look at. After looking at it, I knew it HAD to come home with me. Let's see what you think of it.
It is a very beautiful dime. It is a proof as you guy's have stated. I know that proofs are nearly impossible to guess at accurately through photographs. One thing I found interesting with this one is that the mirrored surfaces have polishing lines still visible. I'm not used to seeing this in proof coins. Most all proof coins I have looked at though are from the modern era. I thought the polishing lines were possible hairlines at first, until I confirmed that they ran right under the devices. Yes, it's in a PCGS rattler which apparently was in a long time collection as the holder is in really nice condition and the bonus is the serial is very low, almost the white label level.
I will go 64CAM The pull away toning around the date looks awesome. Does it have a blue hue when tilted in the light?
The coin is actually pretty white. There is not much toning happening at all. I think what you see in the images above is an artifact of the lighting.
PR 63 due to the older holder, but could be a 64 CAM today On first view, I thought it was a proof-like Barber, but the rims and the other posters gave away that it was indeed a proof. Definitely a nice find!
PR63, not sure if it's got a CAM designation or not. The reverse certainly looks good enough but I'm unsure about the obverse being totally there.
