It's an emu. Think "Ostrich Lite". ;)

    Coins larger than 30 mm:

    Galba sestertius, ca. 68-69 AD.

New theme, using the same coin: coins of short-reigning and/or ill-fated rulers.

(And before somebody posts one of those "coins" with the current US president on them ... don't even go there.)

Your call. Less than a year or two, I suppose.

But that's a moot point, since @Pickin and Grinin has given us a new theme. The "24-hour rule" had not yet come into play, but we'll run with it.

    A monument:

German States (Saxony) silver 3 mark proof, Battle of Leipzig centennial commemorative, 1913-E

Obverse: the Völkerschlachtdenkmal (Monument to the Battle of the Nations).
Reverse: Imperial German eagle, head left, crown above.

OK, now back to my earlier theme, but with a different coin: short-reigning or ill-fated rulers.

Here is a silver denarius of the Roman emperor Otho, who ruled for only three months during a time of civil war, from January to April of 69 AD. He was the second emperor of the "Year of the Four Emperors".

You may post a coin of any ruler who reigned for a short time (say less than a year or two), or who met a bad end by assassination or execution.

(This happens to be most Roman emperors, after a certain point in their history - it was not the safest job around! Otho committed suicide after his faction lost a battle - I've heard it implied that he did this as a noble way to prevent further bloodshed, though it wasn't to be. The "Year of Four Emperors" was only halfway done.)

Kennedy was short lived and ill-fated:

(Note the slab error. Which is it? Is it a 1994-S or 1992-S? Is it made of silver or is it clad? :D).

Next theme is portrait facing left.
