Well this certainly taxed my Photoshop abilities I would love to see in-focus images of this coin. We can't say much about it from these photos, other the obverse has a bust right and the reverse has a horse and rider right. Are there any legends on the coin (letters)? Symbols? What is the diameter? What does it weigh? How did you come to possess it? Did someone give it to you? Did you find it (if so, where)? Did you buy it and if so, from whom?
I bought it from a coin show for a dollar . the guy did not know what he was selling. there is an olive branch behind the bust. I think it is a Greek coin.
There's no reason to doubt that the question was asked in good faith. Pity the same can't be said for your answer. You know you're on the ancients board, right? There are few things less interesting to me than a 1955 doubled die, but I wouldn't visit the error board to say so.
The portrait makes me think Roman provincial coin of Caracalla. I think Alexander or Philip are also possibilities.
Are you going to take and post better images? I don't think it is a bronze of Philip II of Macedon. The bust doesn't look right. Better pictures, size/weight... then maybe we can tell you more.
my first thought was some type of spanish 2nd-1st century BC thing. yeah...what ajax said. but the head doesn't' quite seem right?
Spain seems like it could be right.. both have a symbol to the left of the obverse, Reverse looks like it could be the same design as these.. https://www.acsearch.info/search.ht...1&ot=1&images=1¤cy=usd&order=1&company=
Yup. Ancient Spain seems likely Some similar coins in CNG's archives although at a quick glance I don't see any with the same obverse control mark. Size and weight?
