Well Jeeze I hope if I got banned people would stay in contact with me.

 

Pick up the 'banner' of Steve and Marshall on. This lacking of his presence is but a bump in the road. I know he'll be back.

If you know he'll be back you know more than me. Can I please ask a straight question from the moderator? Is Steve's ban permanent or temporary? I don't think this question is against the rules but if it is, someone with a position of authority please tell me and I will then shut up and never bring up the subject again.

I've kept in touch with Steve by email and have been trying to help sort this out since CT administration feels they cannot answer this question due to privacy.

Steve incorrectly typed his email address when he created his CoinTalk account, so email notifications from CoinTalk have not been received. This is being corrected and when Steve lets me know the situation, I will pass that information on (assuming it is okay with Steve, which it will be). Like everyone else here, I just want some closure on this one way or another (preferably with the news that his ban was merely extended, not made permanent).

At least now we know that CoinTalk did try to contact him with information about his status. (edited to add that earlier in this thread GDJMSP did say he personally contacted Steve , but now we know why Steve didn't receive anything)

 

Wow, the trolls just keep coming and the mods just keep zapping them...

 

Don't blame the forum, moderators or administrators...blame Steve. He knew the rules and consequences.

 

I'm curious how someone who joined this forum yesterday is familiar with what Steve did or didn't know.

 

I have been reading this forum for several years now - following the many popular members who post a lot of interesting and entertaining threads (I enjoy the battles that erupt for no apparent reason on discussion forums - yes I am ill)!. I joined yesterday because I wanted to start posting questions about coins I have in my collection. I don't "know" what Steve did or didn't know but I had gathered that understanding of the situation by reading this thread.

Not sure what Andrew is going on about.

My point is that a lot of the discussion in this thread missed the point. It seemed concentrated on blaming the police for enforcing the law (a good law in my opinion). Proper blame should be on the "criminal".

I wanted this thread to die a peaceful death but I did promise to give an update.

Steve is not returning to CoinTalk, end of story, and he is okay with that. He wishes everyone well and hopes we will continue to have fun with our hobby.

 

This is basically a crime against humanity; no wonder Steve got a ban...

Seriously though, I agree with TIF. This thread needs to die. Hopefully it gets locked.
