This is one of the set of Peace dollars that I inherited with the Morgan's. It was covered in this greenish brown gunk (PVC?) so I did an acetone soak yesterday. It removed a bunch of it, to the point where it actually has some really bright cartwheel luster despite all the ugly remaining film. It also revealed what looks like two small cracks on the obverse- one starting at the edge between the L and the I and running through her forehead and touching the hair. The other starting at the top of the 1 and going into her neckline. The '22 Peace VAMs seem like a pretty deep subject but I was curious if anyone could offer any better description of what's going on here. Thanks in advance.
