Just won this rare Vespasian denarius

    I saw it come up at auction and immediately wondered what you thought of it. I can't think of anyone who would appreciate it more or is more deserving of it than you, Orfew. Congrats. [BTW I was not a bidder for it.] Now, what was that 5% "import surcharge" about?

    That's a very artistically-engraved wreath. How often do you get to say that about a coin? Wreaths are usually pretty generic. The bust is also magnificent.

    @lrbguy Thanks so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it. I only got charge a 12% auction fee plus shipping. A good amount lower than the normal fees.

    Just found another photo of my coin. It was on Acsearch, but it is listed as RIC 1452. According to RIC, 1452 has a star within the Oak wreath.

    So here is the auction photo and then the acsearch photo for comparison.

    What a difference a photo can make.
