Steve banned? Probably the best contributor on here????????????? I have seen some horrendous posters on this forum who have lingered untouched for ages...he must have really annoyed some1
I have contacted the mods to ask if they would at least email Steve, but, in truth, I've been told that they cannot discuss with me about others on the board. I miss him and his antics a lot.
I get that they can't discuss with us and I don't expect them to, I'm just hoping they'll reach out to him directly. It sounds like he doesn't know how long he's banned for or if the ban is temporary or permanent and the least they can do is tell him, especially since he is a supporter of the site.
Ditto. I can't think of a reason why he shouldn't at least know exactly how long the ban is in effect for.
According to what I know, Steve was informed of the length of his suspension. I just wish someone in authority would contact him again just to inform him when he can come back. He says he's anxious to come back, but he knows he did wrong.
You can PM Doug or Jim they'll let uou know how many points you've earned. But you can only inquire about yourself. Oops meant this for @beef1020
Like everyone else...I REALLY miss Steve !!! His posts are always wacky and a lot of fun---and he has great coins too HURRY BACK STEVE!!!
There have been two CNG auctions since Steve's vacation? Think of all the coins we get to see when he gets back! On a side note the province has been having some pretty good weather this month so I am sure he is keeping himself entertained on a deck with a cooler full of beer.
This comes from someone who is new in ancient coin discussion groups. He started by making a silly mistake one evening when he was tired and as a result he was told-off by some members; others took it more lightly and one actually defended him. But he was not banned, although he made a faux-pas by posting something that is considered bad manners without even reading the rules. Since then he has "observed" and is wiser but will think twice before trying to start a thread. "Observing" makes one form opinions about the character of some members but such opinions are better kept to one's self. Now Steve has turned up to be a really nice person, imho, and nobody can take this opinion away from me. How about members joining me by adding their "signature" to a petition addressed to the moderator asking for the return of Steve asap. Or is this also against the rules?
@ab initio, if the ban is not over yet, i am supportive of a 'probation' to have him back. He really makes this forum a fun place to visit. Maybe I spent too much time on cars and sports forums and have a thick skin, but the ancients forum seems like the friendliest place on the net. "Congrats for your coins, it is wonderful, am happy for you" is the prvailing attitude over here.
For that reason made getting a warning for it made it worth it **added. I have seen a couple of good members get the permaband. Not saying what they did was right is was an accumulative thing that did them in. I'm with everyone and wish Steve's return, not the same here without him****
