I don't see a chance of the surfaces being deemed "original," so it's an Impaired Proof (assuming authenticity). Can't decide if it's circulated from these pics or not, but given the surfaces I assume it has.
Well that was fun. Pretty much nailed out of the gate. I enjoyed being able to hold it and admire its rarity. The owner said it was salvaged from a fire and to his knowledge was sent for conservation. PCGS saw some wear,
Could have been buried in dirt, or ashes (as Steve said it was in a fire). Kind of a shame, actually.
Yeah it does suck, seeing such a beautiful rare coin burnt up or whatever. Although, it does make for a good story.
