what causes that partial smashed look on the top of reverse side?? The rest of the coin looks normal to me
OP, check the top under side of the " E " cross bar . Same with the middle cross bar too .. Could be wexler DDR #1 .
so could that be what those three lines above the letters in state could be or would that be from old die also?
Here's the one ( DDR ) I was talking about . See if your coin has any doubling on the designers signature . 1992-D 1¢ WDDR-001 Description: Notches show on the lower letters of ONE CENT. Extra thickness shows on the designer’s initials. Die Markers: Obverse: A small die gouge can be found near the vest to the left of the bottom of the mint mark.
