Both are very nice. Are you still looking for one of these?

The toning of number two is my favorite. The details on the Pegasus on the first is much better however.

Coin B. It has better style, high relief. It's a no-brainer to me.

Definitely A. Now, just out of interest, who is selling B?

Having to make decisions like this can be agonizing! If I were you, I'd consider purchasing both of them! ;)

I say you got a nice one, enjoy it and don't get obsessed over all the others. Go find something else cool.

Ye Olde Deade Kinge has a point. At some point I need to make a final decision. I could keep waffling on this indefinitely, as there are so many nice examples of this type (or closely related types) out there.

Coin A, recently purchased, is in hand and I am content, though it is almost certainly within the return period and Coin B just went on sale after I pulled the trigger on Coin A (of course).

@Nerva expressed an interest in where Coin B was, so I provided a link. His buying it would sort of resolve my dilemma.

My pegasus ponderings have been a nice dilemma to have, in many ways, since in both this and the previous semi-nonsensical poll, it's been a choice between two nice coins either way.

I'll settle down and cool my jets eventually.

In the meantime, feel free to distract me by telling me what qualities you look for in a good <$500 spectrum hekte, and your favorite type(s) of those, if any...

A few things I do not like about B (although it is certainly a nice coin):

    1. The damage on Pegasos' hip.
    2. The planchet defect starting at 5:00 on the Athena side.
    3. The cud and roughness from 9:00 to 12:00 on the Pegasos side.

I still think A is the better coin overall in spite of the less then perfect centering on the obverse.

The relief and toning of coin B are great and I think it's a very desirable coin. I voted A because of the previously mentioned defects with B.

A, all day. Completely agree with Aethelred.

Also, is there no middle ground for guacamole?

    Just got this one reimaged.

Here are the photos from FORVM ("shadowboxed" by @Deacon Ray)

Here is an alternate set of images done by a professional coin photographer.

He put the "heads" side first, which I don't object to.

A has the more interesting device behind Athena. Btw, what is it? Figurine running with a scythe?

B has a crack, just to add to Aethelred's list

So I voted for guacamole since a decision has already been made

I like B because is is concave, adds to the feel in hand (to me anyways).

I don't like the roughness in various places on coin B, esp. on Athena (eye, chin, hair, helmet). Its dies also seem to have been in worse shape. Keep the one you have!

Actually, Coin A is the one I bought. I never bought coin B. This poll is just resurfacing because I'm showing the new set of photos I got for Coin A.

    :)

I thought that was a nifty little feature.

    I plan to. :)

And I'll eat your guacamole. You can keep all that shaved lettuce.
