Hi All, I'm new to the forum. Recently acquired several nice steelies. I've attached a pic of one with a weak 4 (grease?). I'd seen the weak 4 (see inset in black box) before, but this one seemed to also have a "bump" (yellow oval) in the general direction of where the MM (D / S ?) should be. I couldn't easily make out the outline slightly SW below the 4. Wondering if it could be the mint mark or perhaps just a defect. Weighs out @ 2.71 grams which seems to match the spec. I'm guessing its not valuable, just a little unusual. I'm a big fan of weird. Any thoughts are appreciated.
That's quite interesting. I dunno. Grease-filled die seems plausible enough to me? "Big fan of weird", huh? Well, there's nothing weird about that.
@messdesk & Oldhoopster: Yeah, I guess I could see that. Just wasn't aware of how common it may have been in steelies. Much obliged.
