When I search through circulated rolls of currency from the bank, I tend to try to find coins of different errors or varieties. And I seem to have stumbled upon a 2004 Wisconsin State Quarter, with a peculiar error on the Reverse. An error which I was hoping somebody can shed some light on. There appears to be some kind of odd strike located on the belt on the cows neck from which its bell hangs. I've never seen a variation like this occurring on this peticular State Quarter. The only examples of 2004 Wisconsin State Quarter errors I'm able to find online all seem to be in reguards to the famed "extra leaf" found on the reverse. But unfortunately this isn't the case! (This is my first post, so please let me know if I need to change anything according to the websites rules or otherwise, thank you!)
It appears that it took a hit from something, but it doesn't look like a hit from the reeds of another coin to me. It does look like metal has been pushed up along the right side which would be indicative of post-mint damage (PMD). Chris
It certainly grabs one's attention! But it does look like a hit. Have you taken a high power glass to it yet?
I've only looked through 30x magnification to it, I'm actually not quite sure if there was a way I could find out any more information on it, rather than posting the coin on here. Thanks for looking it over though!
