Read this carefully.. If you study the difference in the A in states with wide am and close am, you will notice the A in states with the wide Am has equal distance between the two Ts if you are looking at the bottom serif on the A and T. But if you look at a close Am (1998 to 2000) look at the A in states"for the close AM, The A is much closer to the T on your right side in states and a lot of space is left between the T on the left vs the T on the right.
