Some crazy strike doubling, 1942 D mercury dime.

    Bought this is on eBay, pictures were a little blurry. But could tell something was up with the date, figured why not (just in case it was a 1942/1 D) Only paid 3$ for it. What I ended up with is at least for me...is the strongest strike doubling I've found.

    Thought it was pretty cool, this probably wouldn't add any value to it. But I'm gonna keep this one in my collection, will be a fun specimen to show around. Figured I'd post it and see what you guys think.

    It looks like die deterioration to me. Note how the secondary strikes aren't exactly like the primary strikes.

    Hmm, so die deterioration is that different then machine doubling/strike doubling?
