On lunch I stopped by my Credit Union and they had these loose in a bag. $ 310.00 worth. Of course I bought them and will sort through them at home tonight. I can see some silver in there already. I will post results once I am done.
I loved getting bags that looked like that. My best bag had a large assortment ranging from Barber Half Dollars on up. I can't wait to hear how well this bag does for you.
I'm envious. I remember when we used to get the $1000 plastic bags direct from our banks, from right off the counting machines. Most of the time we'd have to wait until they filled them up although sometimes we'd get them short of full. You won't believe the things we found in these bags besides the coins. Ranged from bullets to keys and jewelry.
Ok I finished searching the bag and found the following: $ 24.50 in 40% JFK's $ 2.00 in 90% ( 3-JFK's & 1-Walker) See pic below. The Walker was a surprise and of course my favorite from the group.
awesome find! That's where I've had my best luck at obtaining "free" silver. Also be on the lookout for unc. Coins....no telling who's collection that was!
As a test one shut down christmas I drove in a big circle around my home in all the small towns and bought all the half dollars that they had. Total in was $1500 total results was one roll of 40% a coin at a time. I checked for all the known DDO and DDR and missing initials from the cherry pickers guide with very little success. I did not find any circulated proofs but there were several rolls of NCLT halfs again one or two per roll. You did much better with your $310 purchase. Congratulations. As a tip for other thrill seekers I always ask if they have any BIG dollars meaning IKES. One time I got IKES plus one worn Peace and two beat to death Morgans.
