I managed to get some time off this week which is difficult for me around and on the 4th of July. I made a stop at my favorite local establishment, picked up a piece of gold jewelry for my lady and also some US coins. I also spent some time bidding on some auctions online, winning 2. I've received 1 group of coins and am still waiting on the other group. The coins I picked up locally were bought strictly based off their silver content. I typically go thru them, pull out what I plan on keeping and sell the rest. With silver currently dropping, I'll probably hold onto them until it goes back up a little bit and then sell what I won't keep. Locally, I ended up with only a couple keepers a 1957 type B reverse quarter and a very nice lightly circulated 1958 half dollar with plenty of luster still present. When the mail came in with my first online order Friday I was excited. 17 Half dollars ranging from some barber halves to a single 64 Kennedy and plenty in between. I was expecting several of the coins to be what they were but was pleasantly surprised when I discovered the UNC 1937 walker had an S mint mark! The pictures weren't detailed enough for me to see the mint mark. Also ended up with 3 1904 S barber halves but they are well circulated. Here's some pictures, anyone else have any luck over the holidays?
Here's the two I kept from my local buy. I always keep any type B quarters I come across but the type C still eludes me. One day I'll get the opportunity to cherry pick one.
