A very odd 1995 one sided nickel was found in my pocket change. I had done some research, and it said that it was worth between $20.00 and $40.00. Can anyone confirm? I will attatch pics of it.

    Sorry. It's just damage.

But the thing is, it's the exact same width as a normal nickel. Anyway, still looks cool. Thanks!

But, the thing is that coins like this have one side ground down all the time. You can see all of the grinding marks on your specimen. If it had been a real one-sided coin, you would not see any marks at all. That side of the planchet would be smooth. If you don't believe us, just google "blank planchet" to see what they look like.

    Then what does it weigh?

I knew you would help. I was too lazy to type all that out.

I doubt it, show a picture of its rim sitting next to a normal unworn nickel.

You can even see where the rim of it used to be.

Every nickel has two sides. Sometimes one of them is damaged.

It seems that the only way one could possibly be blank is if two coins were in the press at the same time.

    But then there'd be two!

They may have been separated by the workers before they went into circulation, and the possibility of finding them together is slim-to-none.

The one-sided one is towards the top of the image.

Several more pictures which can reveal what I would be able to see if comparing the two in hand.

    What does it weigh?

There is a loooooong shot possibility (powerball odds) that it could be blank on one side and somebody screwed around with it maybe trying to polish or smooth it out.

I doubt it, but, I'm open to you proving it, to yourself if nobody else.

Nice link, thanks. If you can prove it is with reasonable certainty, 20-40 bucks beats a poke in the eye with a stick.

Weigh it. If it is underweight, you're wasting your time.

I'm hoping it is spot on for you.
