OK. Put the names in a box and the pick is: I can't believe it ... Sallent. It definitely was an honest lottery and it appears the gods of ancients knew he wanted it.
I knew sending an extra generous bribe to Putin would finally do the trick. God bless those Russians. I can't believe I won after losing at least 20 contests in a row. Thank you for your generosity, I really do want that coin. And as promised, it's coming to Cuba with me on the 24th. LOL. Got to make sure the slab is "well traveled" before it meets it's end. I'll definitely take pics and share them when I come back.
For those of you who are wondering, as it is not clear from the pic, this is a typical coin of the type. Not sure if the condition of the OP coin is similar or not, but hey, it's free! And that's the best kind of coin there is.
Not the first time I've been late to something lol. But as a dealer you have been more than generous with me over nearly my whole ancients collecting career so I would have thought it appropriate to sit this one out. Definitely a kind act from an awesome person. Kudos @Brian Bucklan !
Can I join please. I'm a young numismatic and I would love to own such coin and start my ancient coin collection!. Edit. I should have read the whole thread.
Would you like a free ancient? I might have something I can send you If you really want to get into it.
Fortunately I don't qualify for the giveaway so will sleep easy tonight as I won't have to worry about anyone finding out that I had a slabbed Ancient in my possession. I am sure I would be breaking some kind of law in Wales in respect of restricting public access to ancient history.....
If I'm not too late to enter the "Respect a Slab Contest" please enter my name. I need a slab to practice on. I'm too chicken to "respect" any from my collection. Thanks for your generosity, Brian! Even if I'm too late
Good for you, @Sallent! Saw this too late to enter, but when I read your initial post, and recalling I had won of your giveaways, I had mixed feelings about even tossing my hat in the ring. I'm glad I was too late and glad you won! Steve
Yes please. I have been reading posts on this section of the forum now for quite a bit and it has got me wanting to start an ancients part of my collection.
Are you interested in Roman, Greek, Asian? Send me a PM and we can figure something out. I have a few coins that were sent to me as freebies, and I'm sure we can find one or two that will suit you.
