Got twelve Newfoundland half dollars in VG/F for 10 dollars a piece today. 1894, 1896, 1898, 1900, 1904 H, 1907, 1908, 1909, 1911, 1917 C, 1918 C, and 1919 C. Whatcha think?
You're gonna have to take my word for it - I have a small bag of ancients I have to attribute and scan in before any other images are taken. If it sounds unbelievable - they do look like they were lightly cleaned a LONG time ago. Some of the pieces retoned so well that I didnt even notice until I got home.
I do believe you, I just WANNA SEE THEM!!! LOL And congrats. I'll be looking for some NL pieces in a few months. I do keep my eyes out, just in case a bargain comes up. I just picked up a lot of three 1944 half dollars for $3 plus $3.50 shipping. Works out less than melt even after shipping. Now, if only they were three different dates.....
Oh alright, a quick scan. Surely you don't mean 1944 Newfoundland half dollars? They were last made in 1919.
Nice coins! The Victorian halfs are tough coins to get in decent shape. Have fun! Regards, Ballabh Garg
