Congratulations. A Featured Article is an achievement, in my opinion (and others, no doubt).

Click on your avatar and it shows your number of them on your profile. Which I find more impressive than these "trophy points", which I've never fully understood (everyone seems to max out at 113?)

I might get "likes" when I post cat pictures (and rightfully so - I like cats, and pictures of them) - but when I get a Featured Article (has only happened twice so far), I feel like maybe I posted something with a little more substance.

    Congrats RC

@lordmarcovan And the trophy system at CU is much more rounded. Takes a lot of different kind of posting to get the "badge".

    Congratulations!
I have had two, both in 2014 on subjects only remotely ancient (a coin show and modern Russian wire money) and never had a 'Best Answer'. Your article and hundreds like it might just expose a few people on the rest of CT to consider ancients as an addition to their hobby. Between us all, perhaps there will still be collectors interested in our coins long after we have finished the period of our custody.

I wondered about that too. If you click on your profile it shows you the trophies you've got, and gives you an option of 'see all trophies'. You get them for number of posts and number of likes, with the 'likes' maxing out at 500 and 'posts' at 1,000, giving you 113 points. After that, no more awards!

Well deserved. It always feels nice to be featured, but often takes good research and an interesting idea. Your thread has both! (Plus it caused many awesome Coins to come out of the woodwork and get posted - another bonus!)

Half the ones that get posted i have little interest in. I think its geared some what for ancient coin collectors.

I think this has to do with the ancients section involving more research and historical background into our Coins since there is such a wide variety. Rarely will you see a 'post a nickel' type thread where everyone has the same thing.
