I am super happy with this secular games (happy 1000th b-day to Rome) issue for more than one reason. First reason: I felt like I had a gaping hole in my 3rd Century collection without one. Second reason: I need more animals in my collection and this fine stag fits the bill just fine for me. Third reason: I like the depth of the strike with high detail remaining. Forth reason: Full legends on beefy oblong flan. :):)

Top coin TJC, Philips portraiture on his coins like yours was great. I have a couple of Saecular games issues, the first Domitian As, 88 AD, 28mm, 11.21gm. And the second a Philip I, Sestertius, Temple of Roma reverse. la_294LG.jpeg 2015-01-07 01.07.48-7.jpg

Lets note that the SAECVLARES AVGG animals series was one of the first to be marked with officina numbers. Workshop III struck for Philip II, IV for Otacilia and the others for Philip I, each with a different type. There are some more scarce variations where the animal changes direction or in some detail. These are the common ones.

The cippus SAECVLARES AVGG reverse lacks an officina number so is not a full fledged part of the series.
