Once again, I am not a common collector of error coins, but when I came across this penny, I couldn't tell whether this was some type of possible error or if it was a defected coin. Can someone let me know? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
@Coliiin Don't use Tapatalk... pictures don't show And the word is Damage not Defect... Mint Error and Mint Defect are the same thing (hope some members don't think I'm being obnoxious)
I know what pmd means... I've been collecting for a decade. I just haven't collected the "error" coins from the mint. I just had some trouble identifying whether or not this was pmd or a legitimate error since I only know the obvious errors that are noticeable right away like the off-center or major rotations or DDO/R. I have this penny it's a 1974 d from what I've gathered. I've been told this looks like an error judging by the surroundings. Any thoughts?
YEs, it is post mint damage. But imo, it is a copper coin so put it away with any other coppers. I save all mine cause I am a weirdo. I think in about 20 years these coins will be like finding a 1958 wheat cent.
I even started thinking that about new coins. Cuz eventually my kids kids will be looking for 100 year old coins
Yea, but they make a billion or so, so it doesn't find my radar. I do honestly look at all my pocket change and I really like all the 2009 Lincoln grow up coins and if they are in good shape , I keep them. They didnt make as many. But each to his own.
