    I have more than a few of the 1970 sets - they are sort of interesting because all the coins were then shortlived. The coins up to threenub circulated until Feb 1971, the tanners circulated until 1981 and the bobs and florins up to 1990 and 1992.

    Please explain "threenub," "tanners," and "bobs."

    Threenubs threepence, tanners - sixpence, bob - shilling. In Scotland halfpennies were still referred to as bawbees.
