Can anyone help me figure out what year this is? 1851 or 1857 maybe? There may be some doubling in the date and with 'LIBERTY' - almost looks like a double 'L' at the beginning. I know the coin's condition is not great, but the date should not have worn this much due to circulation (relative to the rest of the coin), should it?

Mainly curious if it is a 1857...will be a placeholder in my for collection since I don't own one.

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

1831. Could be 1881, but I am leaning more towards 31 because I'm pretty sure that 1881 is Indian head penny year.

It looks like mine has the braided hair which was 1839-57. Also large letters and no line under cent on the reverse. Large letters would narrow it down to '43-57 I think.

Looks like 1851 to me. It could be 1854, but I think the last two digits are too close for it to be that.

That coin can be any date you wish it to be.
