    Those are some bizarre denominations and I wonder if they might also have been used for money changing.

    I really like these coins. This is one of mine, a heavy pentassarion (E = 5) of Marcianopolis, Gordian together with Serapis. Magistrate Tullius Menophilus. 28 mm, 13.99 gr.
    Sorry, high relief doesn't work well on the scanner. And the central hole is right in the nose of Gordian. Still, it's a great coin I think.
