price of 20th anniversary silver sets

Im going to have to sell my 10 set sealed box of silver 20th anniversary sets. They seem to be selling for less than they were before. In the coin ads in the magazines the reverse proof is $369 alone and the uncirculated w is $149. I would think the 10 sets would be selling for more than $5k but is this not a good time to sell? Why do you guys think they are going for less. thank for your input. drb

I have a box of ten. Won't sell but want to have them graded, and will see if NGC will allow the option of not
encapsulating any which grade below 69?

 

Too bad you have to sell. Many think these will trend back up. The question is when.

 

Im going to try and hold off for a month and hope something gives by then.

 

Perhaps the demand will rise just before the coming holidays.

 

On May 20th, 2007, I sold a sealed box of 4 to a dealer and got $2400 for the box. I tried to time it when the prices were high and I did well, IMHO. They shot up slightly after that date but I think I hit them near their high. I still have another mint sealed box of 4 and I am holding because I believe these sets will again shoot up in price. I'd hold that box of 10 for a little longer if you don't need the money now. Of course with the way the ecomony is going and the value of the dollar, I might end up selling sooner.

I hope they drop a bit yet though so I can buy and open set to keep for myself because after I sell the other box of 4 sometime in the future, I'd still liike a set just for a long-term keeper

I sold 5 of my 10 sets with a high price of $560 for the last one. I bought back one for $499, I see these well under $400 for a month or three.

I also have heard from sources that these will trend back up when the source (US ORIGINAL OWNERS) dries up for the raw sets. I have heard figures as high as 40-60% of the sets are already TPG graded. Read broken up....

I dunno, we will see....

 

I imagine these may creep back upward around the holidays, as a lot of mint product often does.

 

In 5 years you will wish you had those sets. It will be the type of thing you tell your buddies in the context of the dumbest thing I ever did, if you sell them.

 

I'm holding the one set I bought in hopes of a $1000, when it hits that, if ever, then I'll sell.

 

Just curious, what were the original prices of the various 20th Anniversary Sets (silver/gold/plat)?

The silver was $100. That is the only type I bought.

 

The gold anniversary set was $2,610. The Silver was indeed $100

The 10th Anniversary Platinum should , maybe , probably , hopefully will be released later this year. Then again I could be wrong.

 

Because my dear friend, I've sold 40 sets so far from $617 down to less that $375. I've got two left, saving one for my self and the other on ebay, thats how fast they've gone down in just a few months
