Well today like most days that I come into contact with coin stars in Super markets I always check the rejection shoot. The last few weeks it's been slim pickins. Not today Jackpot over due! I looked in the reject shoot....and bingo! Over 130 plus pennies -1 wheat cent ,3 - S cents, about 9 holes filled in my raw wild 1959- date Lincoln Dansco album 1 totally messed up Roosevelt dime, a 1999 Australia 10 cents, a 2003 10 pence, 1 1976 Canadian cent, a 2003 F 2 cent euro, a 1 cent Bahamas , and an Asian coin yet TBD. About 30 of the Lincoln cents were also all copper. @Seattlite86
It amazes me that people dont check those when they are turning in coins. I dont have the best hearing (Between working on cars, and genetics I will be deaf before 50) but i can still hear when a coin hits that tray. Do people just not care? Right place right time! Cool score for you!
My right pocket was bulging ..... I was like holy cow! Seattlite86 and I always joked that our wives were ashamed of us always digging in the Coin star shoots. Hey free money I'll take any amount any day.
Here's something really funny....last week I was in store writing up my report. And was headed out to leave. The machine was in this out cove and I planned to give it a glance.....I wasn't 10 feet away...this old lady walked in the door, went directly to the machine and scooped out a hand full of coins! I was like @%# } ! How did that old lady beat me to it? Oh well today was my jackpot. That day was her's.
My uncle once went to the supermarket to get groceries. When he was done he went to buy his favorite scratch off game. That day he let an elderly lady ahead of him as she wanted to buy a scratch off game also. She bought the one that he likes and she won $5000.00 He has told me the story about a dozen times and how foolish he was to let her ahead of him
I have my kids trained to check the coin return on the Coinstar any more. They can keep whatever is there unless it's silver.
No actually I grew up the other "P" poor not proud. No actually I wasn't poor....but still always would work for a buck...shoveling snow, mowing lawns, etc....
Actually I find more in ghetto areas than rich.....as the rich never bother to worry about change laying around the house, where as poor neighborhood are always cashing in their jars or containers full of coins. It's amazing however how many silver dimes and world coins I do find. They are the reasons for the other coins to be spit out as rejects. The machine doesn't like silver or world coins.
OK Annapolis was good to me today well the coin star * today's Jackpot was drum roll.......... $5.57 + a 10 cents Australia coin .....and a lucky Buddha charm....looks silver! And one of the Lincoln's looks to be an 1988 RDV-006 ,die 1 of 7 wide A M in Au it's a $45 coin! plus a few others I need to take a closer peek at..... oh @Seattlite86
