No flaming please. . . I ordered the 2017 Lady Liberty Medal. :stop:

Although I received an email from the Mint on June 15th telling me that this order shipped, FedEx tracking shows that it didn't arrive at the initial FedEx location until June 21st.

FedEx tracking also shows it being out for delivery today.

Not that I'm in a big rush, but is the delay between the email from the Mint and delivery by (or pick up from) the Mint to (by) FedEx typical?

Who knows. It's a big corporate business entity anymore.

Packages should enter the the carrier's system within a one or two business days of the shipment being created by the sender. That said, things aren't perfect, people aren't perfect, tracking isn't perfect.

The box was likely misplaced for a few days in the fulfillment warehouse. Someone probably found it in a place where it wasn't supposed to be and dropped it in the nearest outgoing bin.

If you notice no movement on tracking, and the package is past its estimated delivery schedule, you can contact the Mint and have them open a ticket with the carrier to hunt it down if you are truly worried about it. But it sounds like its on its way to you.

It took nearly three weeks for me to get my proof and mint sets this year. Shipping does seem to be slower than in earlier years.

It's considered "shipped" once the label has been created. Not when it actually leaves the shipping facility.

I've ordered from the mint twice this year and both times it took just over a week to receive the order.

When I have been bidding on auction sites in the U.S. it takes 3-4 weeks from the point of email from the auction house to getting it to my doorstep. As long as it does not get lost or go missing, I am a happy camper.

The US Mint's old fulfillment contractor was awful. It was routinely several weeks on in-stock product. It was inconceivable how long it took to mail something, especially in today's world. They should just contract with Amazon to operate their fulfillment centers. They have robots making the coins these days. Might as well have robots ship the coins too...

I've never been impressed with their shipping times regardless of what shipping level I selected

My experience with shipping by the Mint has been a lot better than anyone else who has posted here. I have received the silver proof set, 2017 Lady Liberty gold $100 coin and a birth year set for a grandkid. All arrived within less than a week of the order.

Mint orders were delayed because of a hurricane at the fulfillment center.
