1897 VAM Variety?

    Hi,
    After reading lots about vams on this site, I decided to go through my Morgan Dollar collection, and detected this morgan dollar. A 1897 O dollar, but I noticed the weird O mintmark. If somebody could give me some more info, that would be highly appreciated.

    Damage to the coin on the mint mark deformed it.
