Ahhh, your right, it was slabbed, me bad. I forgot that. Most sellers wont even take them back at all, so, oops. Raw coin? FLAG goes up tho.
Dude, I wish I knew your real name so I could turn you in(geez, maybe it's Chris Bauman, easier than I thought). I will absolutely contact Teletrade tomorrow asap and see if they can track you down. Bidding on your own auctions to jack the price up is so unethical I wish it were illegal so people like you would go to jail for their actions. You are stealing from Teletrade and you are stealing from your customers. I am incredibly shocked that you have the nerve to publicly complain about it as if you are the victim. Have you no shame at all? If I were to espress my real views of your behavior I would get banned from this site so consider us both lucky. Your behavior is abominable at best and I hope you think hard about your ethics. Your personal ethics is what defines a man, not what you can get away with.
ActuallyTeletrade allows this heres their policy: Buybacks (Unsold Coins/Currency) Teletrade does not enter minimums or reserves on behalf of consignors. Consignors are permitted to bid on their own coins, but they must do so by placing Buyback bids no later than one hour before the auction begins (see "Maximum Bidding" instructions on how to enter Buyback Bids). Consignors will be charged a flat 5% fee (minimum $5) on their full Buyback bid on any lots bought back in this manner. The maximum fee for any Buyback lot is $100. I don't care for it and Think Teletrade should allow the seller to set a minimuim opening bid but the rules is the rules and Teletrade can set the rules they want.
Thanks for all the feedback, but no one convinced me why I should sell on teletrade over ebay, but I did learn alot such as their niche is moderns. Also after scouring their site it looks like it takes a few weeks to even get your coin or coins listed. I like their cash advance that they offer, but from my standpoint I would just throw something on ebay, price it aggressively, hopefully sell it within 24 hours, transfer the funds to my account which would be there in probably 2 days, so although I think that is a neat feature they offer I don't see why I just couldn't sell it on ebay and the money in my account within a few days. Well maybe I will look for deals on teletrade, but I don't think I will be selling anytime soon.
GRIV, you are a funny one and you need to get a life and no what you are talking about before you post. Go to the teletrade site and you will see that you are permitted to bid to buy back your own stuff which is ironically another reason why they don't impress me. I don't mind giving them a listing fee to have a minumum price since they have costs involved whether your coin sells or not, but I'm not going to buy my own stuff back because it is more hassle than its worth which is another reason why I'll stick with ebay.
Barrett Jackson has the same policy....My boss had to buy back a Shelby Mustang last year because it did not go high enough. I think it's standard policy in the auction houses
Here's a difference between ebay and teletrade! Same coin I believe. http://www.teletrade.com/coins/lot.asp?auction=2403&lot=1300 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300149696066&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=020
