I haven't been able to do much with my collection lately, having been away on a work trip. However, I did have this coin arrive from Italy last week:
    Med-14-INSic-1130-Roger II-Fol-Messina-177.jpg
    Norman Italy - Sicily
    Roger II, r. 1130-1154 (1130-8)
    AE Follaro, 15.47 mm x 1.4 grams
Obv.: Ρ/Ο/ΓΕ/ΡΙ/Ο Ρ/Η/Σ (Vertically, Σ Retrograde). Roger standing with scepter in right hand
    Rev.: +IC+XC+NI+KA around cross patent
    Ref.: [MEC 14, 177]

This is a rather interesting Follaro with the depiction of Roger on the obverse, and that it was minted very early in his reign. Most of his coins don't have an image on the coins (at least not a secular one). It's not the prettiest strike, but typical for the issue. However, the price was right - about $30 with shipping!

I feel the same way. I only watch about 4 to 5 websites and acouple auction sites and feel that I really miss out on some great coins.

The source of this coin was eBay.it - obviously has the same pitfalls as the US version. But, you can still find a good variety of medieval and modern Italian coins (just stay away from the Romans since you can't import ancient coins from Italy - I don't recall the cut-off date, but most medieval coins are fine)
