Can someone please help me verify that this penny is or is not a D/D

Sorry, can not exactly see it from that distance. But I tried and to me if does not look like one. Not sure so do not take my word at 100% truth.

I do not think this is a double die. Perhaps there will be others who will share their opinion.

 

Notice the bottom of his shirt is close to the rim and the L liberty

 

I see what you pointed out. I would not be able to answer what that may be.

 

I'm afraid neither photo is clear enough to determine if it is or isn't anything of note.

 

Rite aid has a set of external camera lenses for around 10 dollars and they work wonders

 

Reckon it might be a better idea to find out what she is working with before sending her off to buy more stuff?

 

@Ninarose, are you also seeing "doubling," however slight, in any of the numbers in the date? Look real closely.

 

The design didn't change , so it means either (1) The die was overused and spread bringing the devices and lettering closer to the edge or (2) it is a 'dryer coin' and the circumference of the coin is very slightly decreased and the rim a little thicker as it was moved towards the center.
