Hi folks new to this I was told that I have a good chance of getting a coin close to the actual grade by putting on coin talk I just got this 1961 D and I am trying to see if it is. Worth sending in to be graded and possibly a good value estimate thanks Dan
Answering sort of backwards...no, this coin is not worth submitting to be professionally graded and encapsulated. Because, it is too common and has too many hits to it although it would be fine for an album. As far as a grade goes, the pictures are not clear enough to give an actual "close" grade. Hope I was not too direct or sounding negative. Just a humble opinion.
I can't say for sure on actual grade, but from what I can see that is a less than one dollar coin. In fact a whole roll of uncirculated 1961 d cents sold for less than a dollar on ebay.
First, welcome to the neighborhood @Dan Scarbrough ! I agree with Tommy. There are millions and millions of coins that look nice, but looking nice doesn't pay the bills. Chris
