Just received my medal from the mint. For a proof, is it an error for the 'frosted' area to be struck off the raised areas? This is a small area, but still wondering. Also, looks like doubling on the MG initials and maybe the CTC initials. Not sure what the design is for CTC. It's hard to get pictures in the case, but I took other letters in the same conditions to show the difference.

Ah, modern "frosting" on proofs. It resembles the classic frosted effect, in the same way that a poorly-aligned four-color newspaper print of the Mona Lisa resembles the original.
