About this 83 there's no f&g and Abe is not in the memorial building any thoughts or comments on that zcamera-20170622_142849.jpg zcamera-20170622_143047.jpg zcamera-20170622_143150.jpg

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

IMO, it's the product of an over polished die.
I don't know if it would be considered a mint error.

It's a over polished die, as mentioned above.

It's an 'error' in the general sense, more of a
    die error.

I also see a die crack at the right base of the
    Memorial building.

With the FG initials missing, I would assume there
would be some premium to some collectors.

Yeah unfortunately in the picture doesn't show memorial building there are dye cracks all throughout the memorial building that looks like the cracks were the F&G is supposed to be

Where is the die cracks? All I see is deterioration flow lines and maybe a struck thru or lamination error above NE in one. Maybe I am wrong but i am having a hard time finding the die crack. Not trying to say you are wrong.

At the bottom of the stairs where they come to a point on the right hand side of the reverse. There is a die crack running from the stair point to the rim.

IMG_1276.PNG Oh that thing hiding ever so well in the corner? I see it now. That's cool. There's a lot going for the coin. Die crack, lamination/strike through, no FG (if it's over polished, then why are there die cracks and deterioration so visible? I honestly think it's grease, but then again I don't know) I'd pay 1.00 for it. Maybe three dollars since it has 3 things wrong. But if it were ms I might pay 5 bucks.

Agreed with rick on over polished die. I can see die polishing marks in the full sized reverse photo and a possible clash in the 3rd bay, which might be the reason for trying to correct this with polishing and extend the life of the die. The crack may have come at a later stage in the die life. Still, with no FG, a nice error find and a keeper.

The lines that you are seeing aren't cracks they are from repairing the dies, to further the use.
As, has been said Die polishing
